Cosme Diez Maestrado, a hard hitting radio broadcaster who anchored the “Ratsada” program on station dxOC in Ozamiz City, Philippines, was murdered on Thursday after being shot ten times by four unidentified gunman.
Maestrado was transported to Medina Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Witnesses reported that the gunman fled on two motorcycles which they abandoned in Barangay Bañadero to jump into a black SUV that was waiting for the assailants.
In 2011, Maestrado has a previous attempt on his life when a gunman open fired at him but missed, Maestrado fired back and was able to escape. According to a police report, officers claimed that Maestrado staged the attack.
